These two were visiting California for their anniversary, and just a week before their trip, they got engaged. When we were planning their session, they told me they wanted the photos to feel easy-going and light—nothing too posed or serious. I suggested Windansea Beach because the sunsets there are unreal, and it ended up being the perfect spot for them.

From the start, they told me they wanted their elopement photos to feel like a movie—cinematic, timeless, and something they’d look back on years from now and still feel. So we leaned into the in-between moments, the movement, the soft light… all the things that make a story feel real and nostalgic and nothing too stiff and posed...

Instead of sharing their usual bride and groom photos, I decided i'm going to share these photos here instead.. You already know i'm going to capture all of that but there's so much beauty of being able to capture these moments too.. When I was a bride, I didn’t realize how much I wouldn’t see — how much beauty happens just beyond your line of sight.
So now, I document the day as a whole: the people, the atmosphere, the quiet magic in between.

Their entire elopement unfolded with an unexpected ease that translated into beautifully editorial images. From their intimate courthouse ceremony to our portrait time in Balboa Park, everything felt soft, clean, and stylish in a way that suited them perfectly. What they expected to be stressful turned into a genuinely fun and relaxed day.
